CRANIAL DEVOURMENT are a Launceston, Tazmanian Grindcore act forged in August of 2002 by three former IN SUFFERENCE personnel Tom Pryer on drums, guitarist Chris Quince and bassist Chris Pope together with vocalist James Cann. The subsequent departure of Cann triggered an overhaul of the band line up with Pryer shifting to guitar as the band was rounded out by erstwhile INTENSE HAMMER RAGE frontman Craig 'Spills' Spilsbury. However, the band, minus Spilsbury, entered into a period of hiatus in recent times.

CRANIAL DEVOURMENT members guitarists Chris Quince and Tom Pryor also operate CORPSE CARVING.
