Essentially an attempt at reforming SANTANA without Carlos Santana, JOURNEY guitarist NEAL SCHON, ex-JOURNEY man GREGG ROLIE and Co were forced to use the ABRAXAS POOL handle when Carlos Santana naturally objected to the use of the SANTANA name. The album is a cool, Latino Jazz flavoured piece of AOR.

Featured on bass guitar would be WEATHER REPORT man Alphonso Johnson. Both Schon and drummer Michael Shrieve held a prior connection as members of 80's project H.S.A.S.

Post ABRAXAS POOL Schon would resume both solo activity and his endeavours with JOURNEY.
