For the most part conducted as a duo comprising OPHTHALIMIA founder It (a.k.a. Tony Särkkä) and MARDUK member Evil (real name Morgan Håkansson), Stockholm's APRUPTUM are an extreme Satanic Death Metal band of such an extreme nature their self-description as "The essence of pure audio evil" as gone unchallenged even by those immersed fully in the most radical quarters of the Black / Death scene. What ABRUPTUM lack in song structure they make up for with a tendency to be rather heavy on unnerving screams and avant-garde rhythms and noises. The band's reputation is almost enhanced with tales that It is alleged to be one of the prime movers behind the Satanic Black Circle movement. Prior to forging ABRUPTUM It had fronted the Finspång based Crossover act BREJN DEDD, a unit releasing three demos, 'Brejn Dedd' and 'The Ugly Tape' in 1988 and 1989's 'Born Ugly', and featuring no less a figure than DAN SWANÖ on the drums...
