Crossover Thrash band NAPALM heralded their arrival with a 1985 demo session 'Let The Battle Begin'. The NAPALM 1986 EP, issued as part of the 'Combat Bootcamp' series, featured a line-up of vocalist / guitarist Jeff Rossbach, bassist Chris Weidner and drummer Rex Rossbach. The Rossbach brothers had left the fold by the time the full length album 'Cruel Tranquility was issued. New faces were vocalist Chris Liggio, guitarist Jeff Lombardi and drummer Bob Proimos. Oddly, the debut album was released as a two CD set in Japan, together with SIEGES EVEN's 'Life Cycle' album.

The 1990 effort 'Zero To Black', witnessed a band that held none of it's original members, with Weidner departing and in his stead coming bassist Brett Roth. Lombardi's position was taken by guitarist Kult. The band, vocalist / guitarist Jeff Rossbach, drummer Rex Rossbach and vocalist / bassist Bob Eubank, reunited under a revised billing of COMBAT with an album, entitled 'Ruination', being projected for 2004.
