Progressive Thrash out of Colorado and named after JAG PANZER vocalist Harry Conklin’s pseudonym ‘Leviathan’ adopted whilst fronting his side act SATAN’S HOST. Musically LEVIATHAN’s early works are somewhat akin to technical Euro Thrash but as the act’s career moved forward they would tone down considerably. LEVIATHAN was forged during 1989 by former SONIC FURY guitar players Steve Fugate and Ronnie Skeen. Fugate would decamp in 1991, making way for John Lutzow.

The debut 1992 album sees a line up of mainstat guitarists Ronnie Skeen and John Lutzow, vocalist Tom Braden and a rhythm section of bassist James Escobedo and drummer Ty Tammeus. For the sophomore 1994 record ‘Deepest Secrets Beneath’ Braden was usurped by Jack Aragon.

LEVIATHAN switched to the German Century Media concern for 1996’s ‘Riddles, Secrets, Poetry And Outrage’. The band had changed radically both musically and in the personnel department veering into a straight Progressive Rock direction fronted by new singer Jeff Ward.
