LEE AARON (CANADA)
Ontario's sultry songstress Lee Aaron (real name Karen Lynn Greening) made her name with some high profile rockin' records prior to completely re-inventing herself as a noteworthy Jazz artist. Aaron's debut album featured the cream of Canadian Rock with guest appearances from members of MOXY, SANTERS, WRABIT and RECKLESS. Strangely the record sleeve credits members of Canadian trio RIFF RAFF although none of the listed musicians play on the record.
Who did actually appears on the album reads like a who's who of Canuck Rock. Frank Soda contributed the track 'I Like My Rock Hard' and Frank's band THE IMPS sessioned on the song, TRIUMPH's Rik Emmett appears on one track, ex-MOXY drummer Bill Wade and former WRABIT guitarists John Albani and Dave Aplin add their touch. SANTERS main men Rik and Mark Santers had their songs included too and play on the album.
Making an immediate impact in her homeland Aaron also put in some high profile shows in Britain including beneficial TV performances that year. Aaron's live band comprised of guitarist John Albini and George Bernhardt, bassist Jack Meli and drummer Attila Demjen. However, unable to afford the air fares to get her band over for her debut British show at the prestigious London Marquee club Aaron employed Mancunian act SAM THUNDER as backing band. 1983 also had Aaron out on tour in Canada as part of the 'Lock Up Your Sons' touring package alongside THE LYDIA TAYLOR BAND, TORONTO, ROUGH TRADE and HEADPINS...
