JOEY TEMPEST (SWEDEN)
Ex-EUROPE vocalist Joey Tempest, the man who launched a thousand perms, issued a highly successful solo album of lightweight, countrified Rock following the collapse of the Swedish superstar outfit. The album 'A Place To Call Home' featured musicians such as YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and GLORY bassist Svante Henrysson, ex-EUROPE guitarist JOHN NORUM and drummer Nicci Wallin of NORD.
Tempest appeared at the Wassen Festival in Stockholm during August 1995 with rising Swedish songstress SARA ISAAKSSON acting in a back-up singing role. A second Tempest album arrived in 1997 entitled 'Azalea Place' landing the singer a top ten placing in the Swedish charts.
Tempest teamed up with Swedish Pop star and ex-DAMAGE DONE member Patrik Isaksson to record a cover version of Pugh Rogefeldt's old hit 'Här Kommer Natten'. The man would also gain a songwriting credit for the track 'Change' on the 2002 'Moving Swiftly Along' album from the British erstwhile THUNDER duo of BOWES & MORLEY. The singer issued the 'Forgiven' single in September as a taster for his third solo album. Japanese variants of the eponymous album, issued in February of 2003, added two extra tracks in 'Kill For A Girl Like You' and 'Kicking Around'. ...
