MEYVN is a San Antonio, Texas based Progressive Metal band forged in mid 2003 by erstwhile DIVINE RUINS members guitarist Drew Creel and keyboard player Charles Shultz. The band would be built up by drawing in ex-CRUSHER, BIG VINNY and DETRITUS drummer Brad Olson, after answering an ad in the newspaper, with former DRAWN UNDER bassist Ken Liao joining soon after and finally singer Richard Clark, a veteran of HEARTLESS, CRISIS EDGE and SACRED REALM.
Shultz opted out in March 2004 but MEYVN persevered minus keyboards, putting in their inaugural live show at The Vibe in Austin on 9th August. Membership changes saw the addition of second guitarist Jon Simpson and Olson's position being taken by new drummer Reuben Posey. KillZone Records released the album 'Splintered Skies' in September.
