A Columbus, Ohio technical Power Metal band known in a previous incarnation as IRON ANGEL. The band formed in 1994 switching titles to JACOB'S DREAM in 1996 for a well received eponymous demo. The band at this juncture comprised of vocalist David Taylor, guitarists Jon Noble and John Berry, bass player Patrik Depappe, keyboard player Paul Whitt and drummer Gary Holtzman. These sessions soon secured a deal with Metal Blade Records.

JACOB'S DREAM's first commercial outing would witness a revised line up with Holtzman switching from drums to guitar flanking Berry alongside a fresh rhythm section of bassist James Evans and drummer Rick May. The album would see MAGNITUDE 9's Rob Johnson as studio guest on lead guitar. Promotion for the album included appearances at two prestigious German Metal festivals, 'Bang Your Head' and 'Wacken', as well as a showing at the Baltimore 'Powermad' festival all in August.
