LINE UP
Sue Willets (vocals), Tim Manford (guitar), Mike de Jager (guitar), Alan Mills (bass), Mick Hales (drums)
Melodic Rockers based at Birmingham's renowned Rich Bitch Studios, DANTE FOX had metamorphosized from KARRIER, a band that had released an album and two singles during 1988 before adding new vocalist Sue Willets. The first DANTE FOX line-up comprised of KARRIER men guitarist Tim Manford, bassist Andrew Jenkins and drummer Ray Horton together with keyboard player Tony Penson. Manford, Jenkins and Horton also had been active with EXPRESS.
DANTE FOX actually dissolved shortly after the band was originally started, with Manford joining Brian Tatler's RADIO MOSCOW, but he swiftly returned and DANTE FOX was re-assembled in September of 1989 with new bassist Nick Overfield and drummer Jon Cooksey. Overfield was subsequently replaced by former PATRIOT bassist Bryn Jones.
Having built up a solid reputation for themselves as a live band, and with Willets having contributed backing vocals to Nottingham based WRAITH's 1993 released 'Riot' album, Now And Then Records, having been impressed with the group's demos, signed the group. Just before the release of the 'Under Suspicion' debut album the act was invited the group to appear live at the 'Gods '96' festival in Wigan...
