BLOODGOOD is a Seattle Christian Metal band fronted by former JOSHUA vocalist Les Carlson. Guitarist David Zaffiro's history stretchs back through MORNING STAR and CYPRESS. The band, comprising Carlson, Zaffiro, bassist Michael Bloodgood and drummer J.T. Taylor, debuted with a 1983 promotional cassette entitled 'Metal Missionaries'. For the time the group's no holds barred Metal approach would shock much of the established Christian Rock audience, the opening track to their inaugural, Darrel Mansfield produced 1986 eponymous album 'Black Snake' being nothing short of Thrash. Indeed, noted Christian Death Metal combo MORTIFICATION would cover the track on their 'Live Planetarium' record.
BLOODGOOD drafted ex-PERENNIAL drummer Mark Welling for the sophomore, self-produced 'Detonation' album. This album too saw no let up in the musical aggression, album opener 'Battle Of The Flesh' quickly gaining status as a Speed Metal classic. The band promoted the album in Europe by putting in a performance at the British Christian Greenbelt festival in 1987. ...
