Örebro retro Metal band WOLF is proudly steeped in eighties influences. Their eponymous April 2000 debut for the No Fashion life would be recorded by a trio of vocalist / guitarist Niklas Olsson, bass guitarist Mikael Goding and drummer Daniel Bergkvist, this unit gelling from a start in 1995 by the erstwhile PROWLER pairing of Olsson and Goding, recording a first two song demo comprising 'Devil Eyes' / 'Damnation' plus 1996 set of 'The Hills Have Eyes' / PAT BENATAR's 'Hell Is For Children', with Bergkvist of THE KILLERS enrolling in 1997. Early single recordings emerged on the Beast label, 'The Howling Scares Me To Death' in August 1999 and 'In The Shadow Of Steel' in November, did prompting the interest of No Fashion. The April 2000 'Wolf' album, produced by HYPOCRISY mainman Peter Tägtgren, immediately set the band apart from the pack, with many critics revelling in its unashamed NWoBHM influences. A promotional video for the track 'Moonlight' also scored for the band on the Swedish 'Voxpop' TV programme. ...
